Found a Stray?

First of all, thank you for making an effort to help the furry friend currently in your care!
If you are able, please put the pet in a crate or use another safe restraint device (such as a leash) to keep them safe and prevent them from running free again.
If the animal is friendly, the shelter or animal control facility may ask you to transport the animal to their location.
If an animal is hurt, in danger, or aggressive- call 911.
When in doubt, NEVER handle a loose animal; call the police.

Lost a friend?
If you have lost a pet, contact the local police station and see if he or she has already been found. If they have not yet been found, report the pet (Lost) and if he or she is found, the police will get in contact with you immediately.
Fill out our application for lost animals. If your pet is found and brought to us, we can contact you.
There is a page on Facebook that you can make a post about your lost pet. It is called "Cook County MN Pets: Lost, Found, Escaped". If you are not apart of this page, hit the "Join Group" button. It will ask you some questions (very easy ones) and you will be accepted very quickly. Make your post, add pictures and be sure to add a contact number.
If you pet hasn't been found for more than 48 hours, it is always smart to create a lost animal poster. Include a picture of the animal and contact information.
